By now, we hope that you have ALIPRed your pictures and have tested our keyword-based image search engine. We hope that you liked our technology and the way images are searched here. We are in great need of help to build this community. Together, we can establish a useful image-based service to all of us. We will keep the services here free and free of advertisements to everyone on the Internet. There are many ways you can help. In the future, we will create a page on this site to acknowledge all volunteers.

As a Regular User:

Please continue to ALIPR pictures you like, whether they are on the Internet or in your own collection. The more pictures ALIPRed and entered in the collection, the closer we are to a more accurate and more useful computerized image tagging tool. Such tools can potentially benefit human beings for generations to come. We want to help you by directing more Web traffic to your sites. So please feel free to superimpose non-intrusive text for your name or Website URL. We suggest you to keep the text along one of the borders of your picture.

As a Website Developer:

The ALIPR project started as an academic project by just two of us, who have full-time teaching and research duties. We lack sufficient number of people to further develop the site to better serve the users. If you wish to volunteer to contribute useful functions to this site, please contact us to discuss. We will be able to provide APIs for your developments. Our programming environment is in Linux, Apache, MySQL, Perl/PHP, and C.

As a Special Interest Editor:

If you have a specialization or personal interest in certain areas and would like to help, you can be a volunteer Special Interest Editor on the site, overseeing the development of an image base within that area. For example, if you are a big fan of a type of dog and would like to help collect and manage images related to that, you can be a Special Interest Editor for that type of dog. Please contact us to discuss.

As a Collaborator or a Sponsor:

If you have a large collection of good-quality user-tagged images and can share with us the images for use in scientific research and/or on this site, please contact us.

To continue the development of the site and services, we will need funding. If you wish to financially support the development, please contact us.
